Acupuncture

Traditional Chinese Acupuncture is the world's largest drug free healthcare therapy. Practiced in China for thousands of years, the principles on which it is based are timeless.

If positive and negative forces in the body (Yin and Yang) are balanced then you will have good health. Energy, or Qi (pronounced 'chi'), flows through the body within a system of meridians or energy channels. If this energy is unbalanced, disrupted or obstructed then illness occurs. Acupuncture balances channel energy on many levels to assist health.

The first visit takes about an hour as a detailed case history is taken. Your tongue and pulse are examined and a physical examination is conducted if necessary. Acupuncture points are chosen according to the diagnosis.

Fine, sterile, single use needles are inserted and left in place for about 20-40 minutes. Some people describe the needling sensation as a feeling of heat, heaviness or tingling. The needles are virtually painless. Most people feel very relaxed and light after a treatment.

An electro stimulator or a Laser can be used instead of needles.
